OK, this means who owns what
Put simply, you own your content, but agree to have ComedyBlaze format it with our technology, insert our logo and add advertisements as we see fit. Viewers can not download and forward copies your content. They can only watch it on our network and let other users know that they can also watch your content on our network; so you do not need to worry about people forwarding it on the Internet without you getting paid. Although you own the content, you agree to allow ComedyBlaze to broadcast this content to any specific geographical location on the globe and publish it on our Network as we see fit and give us the right to remove your content if it conflicts with legal or our discretionary understanding of harmful or appropriate content. We make this judgment call.
If it is not your content, don't upload it without the permission of the content creator.
The entire point of ComedyBlaze is to allow any artist to publish their content on our platform and make a living working with us while maintaining artistic control. We firmly believe in the right to free speech. Just have a look at our political humor section! We try to be the good guys while respecting the legal and ethical rights of all parties. What is funny to you may be offensive to someone else.
After what happened with the Danish newspaper cartoons of Mohamed we also take our humor seriously and work hard to cooperate with every community to avoid legal or other human disaster. With that said, some stand-up comedians, actors and comical content producers are pretty darned, #!%#@!*'n offensive! So it's our call where to draw the line on what stays and what goes. Beyond that we are very strict supporters of copyright law. After what happened with the billion dollar Viacom vs. Google lawsuit we take this very seriously' even if that was hilarious.
We also firmly support the doctrine of Fair Use under US copyright law and similar statutes in other non-US jurisdictions. Hey, we support artists' right to create and make money without others taking what is theirs. If someone writes a song influenced by James Brown, but keeps it original then that new artist should be OK without infringing on James Brown's copyrighted material. It is OK to borrow from others. When you upload stuff to ComedyBlaze you agree to either our Revenue Generating Member Agreement or our Non-Revenue Generating Member Agreement.
You retain full ownership of your content. ComedyBlaze may host broadcast your content until you remove it from your personal ComedyBlaze and our Network.
ComedyBlaze has the right to alter content using its technology for streaming and broadcasting video and other content as well as rights to insert advertising to help you and ComedyBlaze monetize the content. We want you to have full artistic freedom at ComedyBlaze and do not seek to change the content itself.
ComedyBlaze may broadcast your content on our platform, other Internet TV channel or partner sites collectively understood at the ComedyBlaze Network. We agree to share the profit with you as described in the Revenue Generating Member Agreement. Leave it to us to maximize the revenue earning potential and also the maximum exposure to further your career and promote your artistic creations.
This agreement is non-exclusive on your side. We never stop you from promoting your content anywhere outside of CB. This is not an exclusive agreement. You can publish your bits on MySpace.com and not get paid anything from MySpace and still publish your stuff on ComedyBlaze and get paid for when people view your content on our Network. Go on and sell DVDs on the corner or anywhere you want. You only agree to license your content to ComedyBlaze to be published on our network.
